Gary Cannavo, Vinnie Brand & Matty Olsen were the main DJs working here during the late 80s into the early 90s. DJ Steve Spinelli was a regular at the club and already knew Gary (from Dance Music Plus), but never really got a chance to meet the other DJs (except for exchanging nods here and there). He thought for years what it would be like to be a DJ at this club, but never pursued the idea until one day. In 1990, on a packed night upstairs in the "Narcissus" room, DJ Steve Spinelli brought in a "mix tape" of some dance and freestyle music he had put together earlier that day. He walked up to Vinnie (who was spinning), gave him the tape and asked him to listen to it sometime, and if he liked it, and ever needed him to spin there, to let him know. About a week later, Spinelli gets a phone call from him asking him if he wants to start working there. Lo and behold, Spinelli is now part of this elite crew! At first, he was given a Wednesday night to spin on. He was also sent down to the Mill Hill Club in West Yarmouth (same owners as the Kenmore Club) to do a few nights here and there. It wasn't quite what he expected at first, but he figured he was the "new guy"... so he kept his mouth shut and did what he had to do. It finally paid off though, as working all those off-nights (and the long drive down to West Yarmouth from the North Shore) finally came to end. DJ Steve Spinelli was now doing Friday and Saturday nights in the "Celebration" and/or "Lipstick" rooms... eventually, moving onto four nights a week (Thursday through Sunday) playing dance & freestyle music downstairs in "Celebration". The Sunday night DJ Steve Spinelli spun was "Asian night". Sometimes he would fill in upstairs in "Narcissus", but his happy home was in "Celebration". The Kenmore Club also had a heavy metal and Latin night as well. In 1992, DJ Steve Spinelli's run with this great club had come to an end.
